Complaint against the appointment of the president of Andalusian football admitted: "It was all illegal"

Complaint against the appointment of the president of Andalusian football admitted: "It was all illegal"

The Andalucía Somos Fútbol association has filed a complaint with the Seville Administrative Court against the appointment of Pedro Curtido as president of the Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF), deeming it unlawful. "After having repeatedly requested the relevant documentation from both the RFAF and its president, without receiving a response or access to it, we have been forced to file the corresponding complaint," they explain.

According to the association, led by Assembly member Juan Carlos Crespo , "the complaint has been admitted for processing by the competent judicial bodies and challenges the appointment of Pedro Curtido as president , considering it to be illegal, given that it has not been made or ratified by the General Assembly of the Royal Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF), as required by current regulations."

As can be read in the complaint to which this newspaper has had access, Andalucía Somos Fútbol alleges that "on December 23, 2024 , a meeting was held between Pedro Curtido, Pedro González Segura, and Pablo Lozano to force the latter to resign as president of the RFAF, and also to force José Manuel Molina Maza to resign as first vice president." And, indeed, on December 27, Lozano resigned "after receiving coercion and threats," according to the complainants, as did the aforementioned Molina Maza.

And he continues: "The electoral process for the selection of the president of the RFAF was organized and manipulated by Pedro Curtido in order to obtain the presidency. It was carried out with absolute disregard for the principles of legality, transparency, and democracy that must govern all electoral processes and in violation of the principles contained in the Code of Ethics approved by the RFAF."

He also denounces how the guarantees were obtained.

Finally, they allege that "the endorsements for Curtido's candidacy were obtained fraudulently and manipulated before the elections were called" and that "once the previous president resigned, he assumed the position of president of the RFAF Management Committee , which he resigned on January 8 at 1:46 p.m." Eleven days later, on January 19, Pedro Curtido was elected as the sole candidate .

In this way, and so that all the reported facts can be clarified, Andalucía Somos Fútbol, led by RFAF assembly member Juan Carlos Crespo, requests "the oral statement of José Manuel Molina Maza, Pablo Lozano and all the guarantors who signed the guarantees incorporated into the file so that they can ratify their signature, date of issue and manner in which they were issued."

González Segura's presence is reported again

As reported in this newspaper , this same association had already denounced "the shameful appearance of Pedro González Segura," legal director of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), with Luis Rubiales , at official RFAF meetings, something he has done again. "We wish to express our absolute rejection and astonishment at his appearance once again at another RFAF meeting, alongside the president, the delegate in Granada, Ismael Mazuecos , and other federation representatives."

"We find it unacceptable and shameful that Pedro Curtido publicly supports a figure whose record is marked by judicial scandals, arrests by the Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard in Madrid, and his alleged involvement in a corruption scheme related to football," he added, concluding by recalling that "Pedro González was arrested as part of an investigation that revealed shady practices and allegedly criminal acts."

And he concludes: "His involvement in a network of influences and his closeness to certain federation circles turned him into a toxic figure for Spanish football. The mere presence of this individual at an RFAF meeting is a mockery of the values of sport, of humble clubs, of honest referees, and of all of us who fight for clean and transparent football."

"From our platform, we announce strong legal and political actions to uncover this network of collusion that is doing so much damage to our sport. We will go all the way to ensure that Andalusian football never again serves dark interests and questionable figures," proclaims Andalucía Somos Fútbol , who explain that the decision to denounce Curtido "is part of our commitment to transparency, legality, and democracy in Andalusian football."
